What is Kora?

Kora is an AI customer service agent designed for Hong Kong SMEs, built by Hong Kong software company We Aries Group Limited under the AR Phoenix brand. Once embedded on a business's website, Kora answers customer enquiries 24/7 in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or English.

Kora's answers come only from documents the business uploads itself, such as FAQs, product details, policies, and price lists. A business can use Kora on an HTML, WordPress, Shopify, or Wix website by adding a single <script> tag.

Why does Kora exist?

Kora's mission is to give every business a customer service agent that knows the company's information, at any hour of the day. Kora believes customers should get answers that come from the business itself, not from AI guesswork.

Kora focuses on one thing: answering enquiries on a business's website, 24/7, from the business's own documents, in the customer's own language.

Kora follows five principles: every answer has a source; when Kora doesn't know, it says so; Kora speaks the customer's language; your data stays yours; and you approve every change.

What problem does Kora solve, and which businesses is it for?

Kora solves a problem every SME knows well: customers ask questions at any hour, but teams have to clock off.

Kora suits SMEs of every kind, especially Hong Kong businesses that serve their customers in Traditional Chinese. Kora is a particularly good fit for businesses where:

  • Customers ask questions outside office hours, and the team can't reply straight away
  • Customers write in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or English, and the team has to handle several languages
  • There isn't yet the budget for a dedicated 24/7 customer service hire
  • The business already has a website, or plans to build one (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, or custom HTML)

Kora is especially well suited to 8 industries: e-commerce, retail, professional services, F&B, education, healthcare, beauty, and logistics.

How does Kora answer customer questions?

Kora answers customers using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation). Kora first finds the most relevant content in the documents you upload, then turns it into a natural answer.

Kora doesn't rely on generic AI guesswork; its answers come only from your own information. For example, when a customer asks about prices, Kora answers from the price list you uploaded.

When Kora can't find an answer in the knowledge base, Kora tells the customer honestly that it doesn't know, rather than guessing. Kora also shares the contact details you have set, such as an email address or phone number, so the customer can reach your team directly to follow up.

How does a business control what Kora answers?

A business controls what Kora answers by uploading its own documents, and every update takes effect only after the business itself confirms and publishes it. When a business uploads a revised document, the new content goes into a draft version of Kora's knowledge base first.

Before publishing, the business can test the draft version and check that Kora answers accurately. Customers only receive the new answers once the business has confirmed them.

For example, if a business updates its price list, Kora on the website keeps answering from the previous version until the business clicks Publish.

What languages does Kora support?

Kora supports three languages: Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and English. Kora detects the language of the customer's first message automatically and replies in the same language. For example, if a customer's first message is in Simplified Chinese, Kora answers in Simplified Chinese.

Kora runs 24/7, so customer enquiries that arrive outside office hours still get a reply. Kora currently offers text chat only.

How does Kora protect a business's data?

Kora keeps each business's data isolated by account, and the content you upload is used only for your own account. Kora does not use this data to train other AI models, and does not share it with third parties.

The data you upload to Kora is encrypted in transit and at rest. For example, a price list you upload to Kora is used only to answer customers on your own website.
